Description

The Bataleon Placebo is a brand new model for the 2027 season, that marks a new direction for Bataleon, ditching 3BT to offer a more direct, traditional feel. Building on the progression that began with the redesigned Goliath a few seasons ago, it removes all 3D tech from the board and creates a true cambered snowboard, expanding Bataleon’s range beyond their traditional Triple Base designs. Opening the door to a wider audience, appealing to everyone from beginners and park riders to powder hunters and advanced all-mountain chargers, the Placebo adds the final piece to the puzzle, giving Bataleon all bases covered when deciding on your new snowboard.

Board Type: Freestyle-All Mountain

Freestyle snowboards are built for park riders and those who love performing tricks on jumps, rails, and side hits.

All Mountain snowboards are versatile boards that excel across various terrains, from groomed runs to off-piste. These boards offer solid edge control and responsiveness, making them a great option for riders who want one board to do just about everything.

Flex: 8/10 (1=soft, 10=stiff)

Stiff snowboards are precise, responsive, and built for advanced riders tackling high speeds, steep terrain, or icy conditions. They deliver powerful turns, excellent edge hold, and enhanced stability, especially during aggressive riding.

Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced

Intermediate snowboards offer more responsiveness and stability at higher speeds, with a slightly stiffer flex for better control on varied terrain and more advanced manoeuvres.

Advanced snowboards are stiffer and more responsive, designed for high-speed control, precision riding, and handling challenging terrain or tricks.

Shape: Directional Twin

A directional twin snowboard has a symmetrical shape but with a slightly shifted stance, making it ideal for riders who want the versatility of a twin for freestyle, with the added stability of a directional design. It performs well both regular and switch but excels in one direction, offering improved control on varied terrain.

Camber Type: Medium Camber

Bataleon's camber profiles vary from low to high, each influencing the board’s overall feel and performance. High camber creates a more energetic and responsive ride, demanding an aggressive approach to fully harness its power and excel in precision, pop, and edge hold but require skill to control. Low camber provides a smoother, more forgiving experience, making turns effortless and enhancing float in powder, especially at lower speeds. While Medium camber is the perfect combination of both. No matter the level, all camber profiles extend from nose to tail. However, higher doesn’t always mean better—choosing the right camber depends on your riding style, skill level, and preferred terrain.

Width: Standard, Wide

Standard width boards deliver exceptional edge-to-edge quickness and responsiveness while providing enough platform space for riders with average boot sizes.

Wide boards are for those with large boot sizes and provide extra flotation, reduced drag, and never feel clunky or cumbersome underfoot.

Inserts: 2x4 Inserts

These offer a tighter hole pattern, allowing for more precise stance adjustments. They're common on modern boards and ideal for riders who want fine-tuned positioning and can be used with any binding with a standard or mini disk.

Board Construction

Laminate: Tri-Ax, Carbon Stringers, C.S.T. SuperTubes, Impact Plates

Tri-Axial fiberglass is engineered for maximum strength, minimal weight, and exceptional responsiveness. This high-performance weave enhances the flex profile, providing extra reinforcement for our more aggressive boards, ensuring precision and control at high speeds.

Additional carbon layups are strategically placed to fine-tune the flex, response, and overall feel of each board, ensuring optimal performance tailored to its design.

SuperTubes are lightweight, hollow carbon cylinders embedded directly into the core to enhance camber, reduce weight, and dramatically increase pop. Their strategic placement allows for precise tuning of a board’s performance. A C.S.T., Central SuperTube, running down the middle, boosts pop while maintaining torsional flex for a lively yet responsive ride.

To keep the board responsive and long lasting, Impact Plates are placed underfoot to disperse pressure from high impact situations and keeping the inserts reinforced and your board protected.

Core: Light Core

A 50/50 blend of Poplar and Paulownia creates a strong and lively core that is perfectly balanced for all mountain riding.

Sidewall: Flex Walls

By using Urethane sidewalls instead of standard ABS, you get a sidewall that bonds the sidewall to the core more effectively creating a more durable and damp construction.

Base: Ultra Glide S

The Ultra Glide S premium 7000-grade sintered base is engineered for elite performance, exclusively used in high-end model snowboards. Its ultra-dense P-tex construction enhances durability while delivering exceptional speed, ensuring maximum glide and longevity in all conditions.
